The CBC talked to people from Ukraine who are living in New Brunswick to get their thoughts on what happened between President Zalenskyy of Ukraine and President Trump and some of his team at the White House.
icymi, It was supposed to be the signing of a mineral rights deal where the United States got access to certain Ukraine assets, and in exchange, the US would uphold an agreement to support Ukraine who have been invaded by Russia. Instead, President Zalenskyy got screamed at by Mr. Trump after asking for clarification on the deal. No deal was signed that day, but Zalenskyy has since accepted an invitation to visit with the Prime Minister of the UK and it looks like a number of countries, including Canada, are backing Ukraine in the effort to end the war. Early morning fire yesterday downtown: Moncton Firefighters got the call around 2am Sunday about a fire in the building at 700 Main Street. Fire crews put out a fire on the third floor. No injuries reported. There was some water damage. Thank you first responders!

There is a group making headlines over the renaming of Universite de Moncton. This debate has come and gone a time or two but, Opération Nouveau Nom is a group of citizens who are hoping to have the issue looked at again.
icymi, the University is named after the City of Moncton, but the issue is that the city of Moncton is named after a guy who was involved in the expulsion of Acadians in 1755.
