A Quebec man has pleaded guilty to defrauding people (some in Moncton) of thousands of dollars... this is about that scam where victims are called and led to believe a loved one is in legal trouble and needs bail. Sometimes victims end up sending money, sometimes the money is collected by a person who comes to the victim's house...
The Canadian Anti-Fraud Center says if you get a suspicious call claiming a family member needs money, you should hang up and call the family member directly.
