- April 2nd 1980 Wayne Gretzky, in his first full NHL season, scores one for Edmonton and becomes the youngest player to score 50 goals. He was 19! (Edmonton tied the North Stars 1-1.)
- April 2nd 1980 Montreal Canadiens' Guy Lafleur scores a couple and becomes the first player to have six straight 50 goal seasons! (Habs beat the Red Wings 7-2.)
- April 2nd 1983 New York Islander Mike Bossy becomes the first player to score 60 goals in 3 consecutive seasons! (his goal helped the Isles beat the Penguins 6-3.)
- April 2nd 1985 Wayne Gretzky gets his 34th career hat trick which is an NHL record. (Oilers beat the Kings 6-4.)
- April 2nd 1985 Nordiques center Peter StastnΓ½ gets his 100th point of the season for the 5th year in a row. (Nordiques beat the Bruins 6-4.)
- April 2nd 1986 Edmonton Oiler Paul Coffey nets his 47th and 48th of the season which breaks Bobby Orr's NHL record for most goals by a defenseman. (Oilers beat the Canucks 8-4.)
