🐸 Some Leap Day stuff...

Why we have Leap Day: Our calendar and how much time there REALLY is in a year do not jive. Actual time in a year is a little bit longer. So to keep the calendar working right, we need to account for that extra time. Adding an extra day every four years does the trick!

→ Stuff to do on Leap Day...
- build a time capsule or write a Leap Day Letter to future you that you read next Leap Day...
- play leapfrog *consult your physician before embarking on any fitness regimen...
- drink fancy drinks...
- Watch a leap day movie... "Leap Year" 'stars Amy Adams as a woman who goes to great lengths to get a marriage proposal on Leap Day.'
- Have a "Who can leap the farthest" contest...

→ February 29th Fun Facts...
- in 1964 Frank Rugani set the badminton shuttlecock distance record with a 24.3 metre smash! (over 79 feet)
- in 1980 Gordie Howe's third period goal for the Hartford Whalers makes him the first NHL player to score 800 career goals (Hartford beat St. Louis Blues 3-0.)
