The 2023 Ovarian Cancer Walk of Hope is Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Mapleton Park (Gorge Road entrance).
This event is about coming together to improve outcomes for people living with Ovarian Cancer.

Bobby Jones (Gas Expert) says gas prices will prolly rise a little: "Gasoline shouldn’t move much on Friday but up is more likely than down. Call it ⬆️ 1 cent. Diesel will probably climb ⬆️ another 3 cents. Heating oil had a special 6 cent interrupter increase last Sunday and so should fall ⬇️ 3 cents."

according to NASA, the moon will be opposite the sun at 9:36p Eastern (add an hour for Atlantic Time) on Wed Aug 30. That's supposed to be the super-est time to see it. Our next full moon is Wed 30 Aug 2023 and it's gonna be a Super Moon and a Blue Moon... a SUPER BLUE MOON you guys! What does that mean? Obviously, you may develop psychic abilities and a craving for wet dog food, but also it means the moon will appear larger and brighter than a regular ol' full moon. A supermoon occurs when it is a full moon during the time when the moon is closest to the earth. Also, whenever you get two full moons in the same month, that is rare and they call it a blue moon. Ergo, SUPER BLUE MOON!! A SUPER BLUEY!!!

OK, so no blue moon again for a long time, but what about the next super moon (non-blue)? Next supermoon is the full moon on September 29th, 2023. It'll be the Full Corn Moon, and then that's it for supermoons this year!! We won't get another supermoon until Sept of 2024.

We were talking about all these things that were invented by accident and went on to make the world a better place (and also made the accidental inventor a LOT of money!)
Here are some highlights:
- chocolate chip cookies happened because they ran outta nuts and figured "maybe chocolate will taste OK in a cookie?" (paraphrase)
- potato chips were created out of spite. (Tony often tells me 'All things are possible through spite')
- Worcestershire Sauce was a failed attempt at something which got put in the cellar and then re-tasted like a year later... then it tasted pretty good. The recipe still has secret ingredients!
- Beer? Yes, beer was discovered by accident. But that was thousands of years ago.

- the Implantable Pacemaker. Pacemakers used to be huge monstrosities. Then, a happy accident!
